Portable Diagnostic Software (PDS)

PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE PURCHASING A SOFTWARE RENEWAL TO SUPPORT PDS:
PDS support and software updates will end on December 31, 2010. VCM software renewals provide support to both PDS and IDS. VCM software renewals are for 12 month terms (partial renewals are not accepted). If you would like to upgrade your VCM to function with IDS, please call 1-800-ROTUNDA and select Opt. #1 to purchase an IDS cable (part #164-R9503). Please note that minimum system requirements for compatible laptops are listed on the
IDS System Requirements page.

Portable Diagnostic Software (PDS):
PDS builds upon the modular environment of the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS). PDS uses the Vehicle Communication Module (VCM). PDS is designed to be a simple and flexible diagnostic handheld tool.

PDS functionality compared to IDS is vehicle dependent and may include tools such as SelfTest, Datalogger, Module Reprogramming, Power Balance, and many other Service Functions.

Portability provides PDS users flexibility for the service bay and for on-the-road testing. PDS is not a functional replacement to IDS.
