NGS+ WITH VCM

NGS and NGS+ testers are no longer sold or supported by Rotunda. NGS and NGS+ have been replaced by the Portable Diagnostic System (PDS). NGS+ testers can be converted to PDS. Call 1-800-ROTUNDA (768-8632) for ordering information.

The Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) forms the foundation for the future of diagnostics. By combining the VCM hardware and software with the NGS, you create NGS+, which expands the diagnostic capabilities of an existing NGS, while keeping the handheld convenience technicians like. The VCM is designed to allow an NGS to work on CAN (Controller Area Network) vehicles, as well as most other Ford and Lincoln Mercury vehicles (Model year 1994 and forward) wired to the 16-Pin DLC (OBD II) Connector.




WDS or NGS+ must be used when diagnosing ALL 2005 MY and beyond vehicles and some modules on 2003-2004 MY Lincoln LS, T-Bird, Focus PZEV, 6.0L Diesel Super Duty, 6.0L Diesel Excursion, 6.0 L Diesel Econoline, 2004 F-150, Explorer, Mountaineer, Taurus, Sable, and Ranger.

Diagnostic Base Station

DBS software has the ability to update the VCM with the NGS+ software it needs to communicate with a vehicle. DBS is able to provide the following functionality when used in conjunction with NGS+ T-handle:

• Manage the download of NGS+ software to a VCM
• Manage the download of NGS+ software from the Ford server to a PC
• Check for new versions of DBS software via the Internet
