IDS Technical Support – Information You Will Need:
You will need access to your PC, VCM and VMM (where applicable) when contacting support. Because the VCM and VMM receive their power from the vehicle's battery, a vehicle with a fully charged battery is also necessary.
Please be sure to have the following information:
- IDS Versions – These can be found on the System Information subtab, with the VCM and VMM powered and connected:
a. Software Release (On System Information subtab)
b. VCM Serial#
c. VCM BCF
d. VCM Prom
e. VCM Bootstrap
f. VMM BCF
g. VMM Prom
- PC Make and Model
- VCM Light Sequence you are seeing – Jot down the LED states by their numbers
- Network Connection – ISP
- PC operating system and Service Pack level
- Vehicle Type and Model Year – for vehicle specific problems
- Any IDS error codes or error messages.
