  Counterfeit VCM

  Counterfeit VCM

Counterfeiting is a growing phenomenon affecting virtually every brand owner in every industry around the world. According to Government agencies & industry sources, parts counterfeiting costs the global automotive industry $12 billion annually.

Counterfeiting occurs when a third party copies an Original Equipment (OE) product and/or package through their own manufacturing process and utilizes company trademarks in order to defraud consumers. The advent of the internet has greatly facilitated the trade in counterfeit products, allowing unrestricted global access to unsuspecting consumers.

Why you should care about counterfeit VCM's:
Counterfeit VCM's have been found to be of low quality, reliability and performance. They are not tested and certified by globally recognized safety and test organizations such as Underwriters Laboratories and IEC-CE (click here for details). Counterfeit VCM's pose a possible safety hazard to the technician and the vehicles they service. Counterfeit VCM's are not supported by the Ford TIS Hotline and are not eligible for repair or replacement.
